AENIB convenes the sector in its 14th Nautical Awards Ceremony

The Association of Marine Industries of the Balearic Islands (AENIB) yesterday organised its general assembly of members and the annual gala to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the entity, which was celebrated last year.

During the meeting, the AENIB awards and recognitions were presented to prominent figures and entities in the marine industry. Thus, Tomás Garrido Serra received special recognition for the work done in the creation of the Balearic nautical employers. Garrido was vice president of the Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca in the decisive years when AENIB was forged in the early 80s, encouraging Margarita Dahlberg, historic president of the entity for 20 years, to take the reins of what is now the reference association in the marine industry.

Meanwhile, Miguel Salom Ribot was recognised for a lifetime of effort for the marine industry at the head of the company Nautipaints, a clear role model for companies that make up the business sector in the Balearic Islands. Nautipaints is one of the Balearic Islands’ most internationally renowned nautical companies. It was founded in 1971 by Miguel Salom, under the name of Nauti-Pesca Can Miquel, becoming from the 90s onwards a leading international company in superyacht maintenance.

Ferdinautic also received the lifetime achievement award. Founded in 1990, this well-known company has more than 30 years of experience in the world of nautical sports. It has a technical team specialised in the repair, assembly and after-sales service of generators, electromechanical systems, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical systems, pumps, batteries, etc.

Finally, Jaume Vermell Náutica was awarded the prize for loyalty and tenure in AENIB. With more than 30 years of experience in the sector, this company, founded in 1991, was initially dedicated to the repair service of sports boats, to later become distributors and official technical service for prestigious brands of nautical engines.
