The purpose of choosing these days is to extend the calendar of activities at the boat show.
The casuistry of both events promises to turn the city of Palma into the epicentre of the international nautical sector, giving participants the opportunity to enjoy both experiences.

Sustainability certification and measuring the economic impact of the show will mark the 40th anniversary of the Palma International Boat Show

The fair, which will take place from 25th to 28th April 2024, presents the activities of the next edition at FITUR, such as The Balearic Superyacht Forum

The Palma International Boat Show (PIBS) will celebrate its 40th anniversary during the next edition of the boat show, which will focus on sustainability certification and measuring the economic impact of the event. The event, which will be held from the 25th to 28th of April in Palma's Moll Vell, has established itself as one of the benchmark events for the nautical sector on an international level and the fair that opens the Mediterranean nautical season.

The Palma boat show has presented its fortieth anniversary at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) with the presence of the Minister of Enterprise, Employment and Energy of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Alejandro Saenz de San Pedro, the Minister of Tourism of the Consell de Mallorca, Marcial Rodriguez, the managing director of the Institute for Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands (IDI), Silvia Delgado, and the president of the Balearic Marine Cluster, Antoni Salom.

The organisers are preparing a series of events to commemorate this anniversary together with exhibitors and visitors, as well as actions that aim to set the path for the future of the fair, such as the start of certification as a sustainable event. In this sense, this edition will have the first sustainability plan that will include measures for the reduction and improvement of environmental, social, and economic aspects. Thus, the carbon footprint of the fair, the waste generated, and the consumption of materials and water will be measured. In addition, a catalogue of sustainability recommendations will be drawn up for suppliers, exhibitors, and visitors. The aim is to improve the indicators obtained in future editions and thus certify the PIBS as a sustainable event.

Another of the novelties that will mark the next edition will be the measurement of the economic impact of the event to find out what the event means for the sector, for Palma and the rest of Mallorca. In addition, conferences and sector conferences will be organised, as well as a celebration to thank the companies for the trust they place in the fair every year. All the news about the 40th anniversary can be consulted on the website https://palmainternationalboatshow.com/40-aniversario/.

One of the most important events at the next edition will undoubtedly be The Balearic Superyacht Forum, organised by the Balearic Marine Cluster with the sponsorship of the IDI and the collaboration of The Superyacht Group. This is the first international superyacht forum in the Balearic Islands, to be held on the 24th and 25th of April, coinciding with the Palma International Boat Show. For two days, Palma will bring together superyacht professionals, experts and enthusiasts in a dynamic event where the main aspects that will determine the future of the sector will be discussed.

The Balearic Superyacht Forum will feature a full programme consisting of a wide variety of sessions, presentations and interactive activities focusing on aspects such as innovation, sustainability, the evolution of Palma's nautical maintenance and repair industry, as well as the opportunities and challenges facing the Balearic Islands as an international nautical tourism destination. The programme and content of the congress are now available on the website thebalearicsuperyachtforum.com, where tickets can also be purchased.

During this 40-year history, the Palma International Boat Show has played a very important role for the Islands' nautical sector, which is considered one of the Balearic Islands' economic engines. In fact, the show has been the gateway for many foreign firms that have decided to establish themselves on the islands after participating as exhibitors. In addition, it has also contributed to the internationalisation and growth of local nautical companies. According to data from the Balearic Marine Cluster, the 83 associated companies employ more than 2,000 people and generate more than 600 million euros.

The last edition of the Palma International Boat Show, organized by the IDI, an agency under the Ministry of Enterprise, Employment and Energy, and Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA) had 271 participating companies and some 600 boats on display, more than 250 at sea, spread over a fairground of 81,000 square meters. It was also the setting for presentations of new boat models and products on a global scale, as well as becoming the nerve centre of the sector for four days.

The Palma International Boat Show increases national and international promotion with participation in the BOOT and FITUR trade fairs

Next week the Palma International Boat Show will be taking part in two of the biggest international boat shows, the BOOT nautical event held in Düsseldorf and the FITUR tourism fair in Madrid. The aim of the two actions is to promote the next edition of the Palma fair, a very special year as it will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the event.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Consell de Mallorca, the Palma International Boat Show will have a stand at both events, where it will showcase its exhibits to the thousands of professionals and enthusiasts who visit BOOT and FITUR.

The BOOT fair will take place from 20th to 28th January in Düsseldorf. Considered one of the largest nautical fairs in the world, it will have 16 exhibition halls. Last year it attracted more than 237,000 visitors from over a hundred countries, which is why the organisers of the Palma International Boat Show consider participation in BOOT to be an excellent opportunity to attract new international visitors to the Mallorca event.

For its part, FITUR is one of the must-attend events for world tourism professionals, held in Madrid from the 24th to 28th of January. The Palma International Boat Show will be taking part in this event for the first time, where it will have the chance to present all the new features of the Palma fair, especially those related to its 40th anniversary.

During these months, the PIBS organisers are immersed in the marketing of the fair, which is already well underway thanks to the excellent response from the companies that want to take part in the event, which will be held from the 25th to 28th of April 2024 in Palma's Moll Vell.

The show is organised by the Institute for Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands (IDI), an entity dependent on the Regional Ministry of Enterprise, Employment and Energy, and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA).

The Palma International Boat Show will celebrate its 40th anniversary with an edition packed with activities

The next edition of the Palma International Boat Show will be marked by the celebration of its 40th anniversary, a very special date that the organisers want to share and involve the exhibitor companies that have placed their trust in the event and made it grow. For this reason, various activities are planned, such as the revival of the Night of the Sea, focused on the 40th anniversary, a tribute to exhibitors, as well as actions to consolidate the show, such as conferences and sectoral seminars. The promotion of innovation and the digitalisation of nautical companies will also be present at this edition, which aims to increase social nautical activities during the week of the fair, which will take place from 25th to 28th April 2024 in Palma's Moll Vell. Also, the show will include Palma Superyacht Village, section specially designed for acquiring or buying boats over 25 metres in length.

The fair is organised by the Instituto de Innovación Empresarial de las Illes Balears (IDI), an entity under the Ministry of Enterprise, Employment and Energy, and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA).

A photograph of Nico Martinez stars in the image of the 40th anniversary, which has as its slogan "40 years at full sail". Martínez is one of the most internationally recognised nautical professionals, winner of awards such as Mirabaud Yacht Racing in 2022, or the Mariano Aguada Communication Award of the Terras Gaudas National Sailing Awards in 2020. He has also been the official photographer for the America's Cup Challenger "Rioja Espanya" to San Diego 1995, "Bravo España" to New Zealand 2000, and "Desafío Español" València 2007, as well as in international regattas such as Barcelona World Race 2010, Record Barcelona - New York, Audi MedCup Circuit 2008-2011, or RC44 World Championship Tour.

The aim of the organisers is that this anniversary will serve to highlight the role of the fair as a pole of attraction for international companies and as a catalyst for the sector, one of the most important for the economy of the Balearic Islands. It should be noted that over the years, the boat show has been the gateway for many foreign firms to choose the Balearic Islands to establish themselves in Spain and has allowed the internationalisation of companies in the islands.

The IDI and BYBA, aware of the need to continue to expand the fair, has initiated a series of meetings to establish partnerships with various institutions that will increase the promotion of the fair nationally and internationally. In this way, this year the PIBS will be present at the main tourist and nautical fairs with a double objective, to make the destination known as an international nautical centre and to attract visitors to the fair.

On the other hand, this week has opened the application period for space for new companies that did not participate in last year's edition. Those interested can apply to participate via the website www.palmainternationalboatshow.com.

In 2023, the fair had 271 participating companies and some 600 boats on display, more than 250 at sea, spread over an exhibition area of 81,000 square metres. It was also the setting for the presentation of new boat models and products on a global scale, as well as becoming the nerve centre of the sector for four days.

The next edition of the Palma International Boat Show will take place from 25th to 28th April 2024

The next edition of the Palma International Boat Show will take place from 25th to 28th April 2024 in Palma's Moll Vell, and will once again inaugurate the Mediterranean nautical season. The show is organised by the Institute for Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands (IDI), an entity dependent on the Regional Ministry of Enterprise, Employment and Energy, and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA).

The event has a very complete offer including everything from all kinds of new boats to nautical products and equipment, as well as services, marinas and marinas. Special mention should be made of the Palma Superyacht Village, a section specially designed for boats over 24 metres in length, both sailing and motorboats, and which also includes an area specialising in boat repair and maintenance, known as refit & repair, in which the leading companies in the nautical industry take part.

The Palma International Boat Show has established itself as one of the essential fairs at the start of the nautical season. This is borne out by the participation figures of recent editions. In 2023, the fair had 271 participating companies and some 600 boats on display, more than 250 at sea, spread over an 81,000-square-metre exhibition site. It was also the setting for the presentation of new boat models and products on a global scale, as well as becoming the nerve centre of the sector for four days.

The last edition was characterised by a very full agenda of events, such as activities to promote training and employment in the nautical sector. In addition, the Palma Superyacht Village area hosted the Innovation Corner, a space dedicated to emerging companies focused on innovation in the nautical world, especially with digitalisation and sustainability solutions.

The marketing work for the next edition of the show is scheduled to begin in September.
